Church w/two crosses above Solingen, (Carl Schmidt Sohn) stamped TM.  This nice example complete with frog and portepee was obtained in Germany.  For more information on long and short model Fire bayonets, see pages 118 – 120 of Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich, Volume VIII.   Nickel-plated hilt fittings show only faint age/wear to the pommel and recurved crossguard with no speckling or lifting. Black bakelite grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips. Plated 24.8cm blade grades EX+/EX++ showing minor runner marks with a few specks of lifting to lower obverse/reverse cutting edge near tip and   is complete with black leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately 99% of the original black enamel, with no crazing or chipping.  Dark brown leather, double-stitched, single-rivet frog grades EX++/Near MINT with virtually no wear/age.
