E.Pack & Söhne, Solingen, Siegfried wielding hammer TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show almost no wear to pommel, spine and crossguard. Pommel slot is complete with green felt plug. Black bakelite grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips and complete with the off-set screws used by the Pack firm. Plated blade measuring 24cm grades near mint showing very minor runner marks. Obverse blade features the two-line remembrance of service inscription in raised Gothic letters, “Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit”. To the right of the inscription is a motif of an Engineer (Pioneer) unit erecting a pontoon bridge. The panel retains 100% of the background frosting, and blade is complete with brown leather buffer pad. Steel scabbard retains approximately 99% of the original black enamel. RARE E.
