F.&A. Helbig Steinbach(KrM) surrounding the brandname Gaefler in script letters TM. This nice aluminum example was recently obtained from the family of WW II Veteran. Aluminum hilt fittings show virtually no wear to the factory frosting on pommel and crossguard, with 100% the frosted gold wash remaining on pommel and crossguard swastikas. Blue leather grip shows only faint surface wear with no loss of color, no nicks or tears, and is complete with tight double aluminum wire wrap. Plated blade measuring 26 5/8″ in length grades EX++, showing minor surface wear/runner marks, faint gray shadowing and several tiny gray speck but, no pitting or nicks to cutting edges, and is complete with with blue leather buffer pad. Dent-free, blue leather covered scabbard is perfect with no scuffs tears, or loss of color and matches the grip leather perfectly. Dent-free, upper and lower aluminum scabbard fittings grade Near MINT/MINT with 100% of the factory frosting remaining, and with all four, undamaged retaining screws. The integral, blue leather hanger grading EX+ is included with the sword but, the two attaching straps have separated from the rings over time. Nice aluminum example. EX++ (26433) $1,595.00
