Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show age patina with much factory darkening remaining in the recesses of the well detailed oak leaf embellished pommel. Reverse of cross guard shows light bubbling and professionally engraved in script font: Karl Hager. The 1939 rank list indicates five officer’s with the family name of Hager serving on active duty. However, there is no record of a Karl Hager receiving any higher decorations during the war. Polished blade grades EX++/Near Mint and no pitting or nicks to cutting edges and is complete with brown leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows age patina matching the hilt fittings and is complete with portions of factory darkening and with the thick throat and reverse, center mounted, flat-head screw normally associated with Eickhorn 2nd pattern Army daggers.
