E.&F. Hörster, Solingen text to obverse, and stylized H and S pierced by sword TM to reverse. The Zollschutz R.F.V. bayonet style can be found on page 186 in Seitengewehr: History of the German Bayonet by George T. Wheeler. Steel hilt fittings show some wear and dark age patina with speckling throughout. Reverse crossguard is marked “R.F.V.” Black hard rubber grip plates are perfect with no cracks or damage. Blade grades EX showing runner marks along with much gray shadowing and speckling, but no nicks to the cutting edge. Blued, buffed-bright steel scabbard shows light wear to finish, but no dents or depressions. Bayonet is complete with original leather frog and knot, both in EX++ condition.
