KARL FR. KUHRT, KOM – GES and ZELLA MEHLIS in double oval TM. Both Ralph Siegert’s SA book and the “McSarr” scale list this maker as an “8” in rarity. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina with reverse lower crossguard group-marked “BO” (Bayerische Ostmark). Light brown wooden grip with early production quality grip-to-crossguard fit shows only light wear and age with one depression to reverse above crossguard and a very small chip below the reverse upper scabbard fitting. Silver grip eagle and SA insert are properly inset and are also of early, high-quality production. Early quality blade grades EX+ showing surface wear/runner marks and speckling, but no pitting or nicks to blade edges and no damage to blade tip.  Deeply-etched motto retains much of the light gray background frosting.  Dent-free steel scabbard shows some surface wear and has lost much of the brown period anodization. Early nickel-silver fittings show light surface wear and no damage to lower scabbard fitting ball. Dagger is complete with nickel silver unmarked hanger and grades EX+.
