Description

A photograph of this pattern sword appears on page 126 of SWORDS OF GERMANY 1900/1945 by John R. Angolia as an Emil Voos pattern. Gilded brass hilt fittings show light wear to highlights of the well detailed pommel, oak leaf embellished backstrap and knuckle-bow with open wing eagle on obverse langet. Knuckle – bow features a national eagle with down – turned wings: an extremely rare feature an an Army Sword! The black celluloid grip shows only minor surface wear with no cracks or chips and is complete with tight twisted brass triple wire wrap. Curved, plated, blade grades EX+/EX++ showing only minor surface wear and one – two very minor nicks to the cutting edge and is complete with leather blade buffer pad. Repainted, dent-free, steel black scabbard shows surface wear but, no dents or damage. EX+/EX++
