E.D. WUSTHOF, SOLINGEN with trident in double oval TM. Early nickel-silver pommel nut and crossguards show some surface wear/age patina, with the reverse lower crossguard group marked “Nrh” for Niederrhein. The deep brown grip shows some surface wear including surface scratches and some very minor depressions. The grip features perfect early quality grip-to-crossguard fit and is complete with nickel-silver eagle and the SA insert properly inset. Polished blade grades EX+ with runner marks and light gray speckling, but no nicks to cutting edges. The deeply etched SA motto retains approximately some of its medium gray background frosting. The reverse blade shows evidence of professional grinding with faint grinding to the lower portion of the trademark, indicating that the dagger originally had a Röhm inscription. The steel scabbard shell shows much oxidation, but no dents. Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show surface wear/age patina matching the hilt fittings, with the lower fitting one depression to lower ball. Early dark brown leather hanger shows light wear and age to the leather, but no damage to the unmarked nickel-silver clip.
