Early Carl Eickhorn squirrel in a double-oval TM is deeply stamped. This is definitely a rare Third Reich dress bayonet that the vast majority of German Third Reich collectors will NOT find in their personal collections as this model is quite rare (first example that we have offered in the past several years). For some good photographs of this model bayonet, see pages 88 and 89 of Ronald Weinand’s and Gary Walker’s excellent reference entitled, German Clamshells and Other Bayonets. Note that in the initial photo caption on this model clamshell bayonet that the authors state, “These bayonets are extremely rare”. Stag grip and Feldjagerkorps emblem are perfect. Nice tight clamshell. The original green felt plug and brown leather butter pad are both still intact. Black leather scabbard is near perfect. Comes complete with a correct black leather frog. Will most likely be quite a while before you find another one of these bayonets being offered for sale. EX++
