SS Dagger by Gottlieb Hammesfahr (#30225)

Our Featured Item this week is a very nice condition early 1933 SS dagger manufactured by the rather scarce maker Gottlieb Hammesfar in Solingen. Features early nickel/silver crossguards, scabbard fittings, and grip eagle. Perfect grip to crossguard fit. No chips to the black ebony grip. “III” stamped on the reverse lower crossguard. Perfect blade to lower crossguard fit as well. Both crossguards are stamped “O” and “V”, an unidentified casting firm (see page 18 in my Volume II of “Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich”). Blade shows one small area of black spotting close to the SS motto. Nice straight anodized scabbard with no denting to the lower scabbard fitting “ball”. EX+ . CONSIGNMENT
