Description
Reverse features stylized H, H, and S monogram pierced by a sword TM with obverse featuring E.& F. HORSTER, SOLINGEN two-line TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show excellent detail to the eagle head pommel and oak leaf embellished crossguard with no loss of plating to pommel or crossguard. Medium brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips, and with Third Reich Police grip emblem properly pinned to the obverse plate. Grip plates show almost no evidence of being cut down during refurbishing as portions of the original rivet holes are barely visible. Plated blade grades EX+ with runner marks/surface wear and speckling to the obverse/reverse lower half and NO nicks to the cutting edge. Black leather scabbard shows light surface wear with almost no loss of color and NO creases, no rips or tears and no damage to the reverse stitching. Nickel-plated scabbard fittings show light surface wear with a faint depression to both sides of lower fitting, but no damage to the lower ball which is stamped “23”. EX+/EX++
