Description
Two-line P.D. LUNESCHLOSS, SOLINGEN TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show excellent detail to the eagle head pommel and oak leaf embellished crossguard with thinning of plating to eagle’s brow and beak. The reverse crossguard is stamped “324”. Medium brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips, and with Third Reich Police grip emblem properly pinned to the obverse plate. Plated blade grades EX++ with runner marks/age but, no nicks to the cutting edge. Black leather scabbard shows light surface wear/age, but no rips or tears, and no damage to the reverse stitching. Nickel-plated scabbard fittings show light surface wear, but no damage to the lower ball, and are complete with both retaining staples. Reverse upper scabbard fitting is stamped “S.D. II 238” with all digits and letters “X’d out” and features the additional number of “425” stamped below. Black leather, double-stitched, four-rivet frog grades EX+ showing minor wear/age but, no rips or tears and no damage to stitching and is marked to reverse “JACOBI & CO I.N.K. STUB 88” and “CRONENBERG”. Bayonet is complete with heavily worn/toned portepee missing much bullion thread and grades EX-.
