J. Reuleaux, Solingen-Wald, “7” inside rectangle within double-oval TM. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light surface wea/age patina with reverse lower crossguard group marked “Wf” (Westfalen). NOTE: The “f” appears to be a miss-strike or an overstrike. Dark, reddish-brown, fine-grained wooden grip shows light surface wear, but no cracks or chips, and is complete with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. Polished blade grades EX/EX+, showing surface wear/runner marks with evidence of light abrasive polishing, but no nicks to cutting edges. Deeply etched motto retains 100% of the medium gray background frosting. Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 98% of the original chocolate brown enamel with a few tint specks of missing paint on obverse/reverse shell. Dent-free plated scabbard fittings show faint surface wear, but no lifting or damage to lower ball, and are complete with undamaged screws. Nice transitional SA dagger by RARE maker.
NOTE: THIS DAGGER RATES A “9” ON THE MCSARR’S RARITY CODE LISTING.
