Description
These vest emblems were recently obtained from the estate of WWII veteran PFC Vernon L. Briggs of Middletown, CT. The emblem features a large 24cm x 11cm machine woven black open wing eagle looking to his left on a white half oval. See page 81, lower, of Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army 1933-1945, Volume II by John R. Angolia and Adolf Schlicht for a photograph of this style emblem worn on the front center of the sports vest. MINT, Unissued (21987)
