WWII German Army Lionhead Sword (#30601)

WWII German Army Lionhead Sword (#30601)

No maker; Condition: EX++

$595.00

This sword was purchased this week from a JRB&M “walk-in”.  It is a very nice condition Lionhead sword with red ruby eyes. The langet features an open wing eagle and all of the parts are from the Alcoso firm in Solingen. Tom would grade the overall condition EX+ and would grade even higher if it wasn’t for one segment of loose wire. All the wire is there, it is just loose on the top section. It is nice to acquire a completely unaltered WWII specimen brought home by an American GI. The gold gilding is quite bright, and the blade can be cleaned to an even better state than it presently reflects. The black lacquered scabbard is completely dent free, and the sword comes complete with the original sword knot, which has, over time, been broken into pieces, and a one typed page of documentation from the seller, both of which accompany this sword. A very nice unaltered piece.
