Stamped H-H-S monogram pierced by a sword (E.& F. Hörster, Solingen) TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show excellent detail to the eagle head pommel and oak leaf embellished crossguard with no loss or plating to pommel or crossguard. Pommel slot is complete with red felt plug, pommel spine is stamped “S 1” and reverse crossguard is unmarked. Dark brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips, and with Third Reich Police grip emblem properly pinned to the obverse plate. Grip plates show evidence of being cut down during refurbishing as portions of the original lower rivet holes remain on both the obverse and reverse plates just above the crossguard. Plated blade measuring 32.8cm in length grades EX with runner marks/surface wear, light “pecking” to the cutting edge and upper obverse flat of blade, with a small chip to lower edge of blade near tip, and light grinding marks near the blade tip where blade was shortened. Spine of blade is stamped with the matching “S 1” marking and complete with black leather buffer pad.  Black leather scabbard shows light surface wear/minor loss of color with one crease near lower fitting but, no rips or tears, and no damage to the reverse stitching. Nickel-plated scabbard fittings show light surface wear with some minor “pecks” to the lower fitting, but no damage to the lower ball, and are complete with both retaining staples. Reverse upper scabbard fitting is stamped “S.H. 3 4 3”  (Schutzpolizei/Municipal Police Property, administrative district Hannover, weapon number 3 4 3). Black leather, double-stitched frog grades EX+ showing minor wear/age, but no rips or tears and no damage to stitching. Attached to the upper frog is a grip strap that shows only minor age to leather with no rips or tears.
